I am not a hoarder in the physical life. I do not save newspapers, trash, random junk. But digitally, I am completely and utterly a hoarder. I save things with no known value or use. But hey! It’s digital! And it all sits in one folder so it LOOKS orderly.
Here is a trio of videos that were produced for “Dead Men Sing No Songs”, a murder mystery about a boy band that reunites after breaking up. Spoiler alert: there are murders.
First, here I am as former boy band member Lance Chubb in my new life as a country singer. In our Main Street Players prop department we had a breakaway guitar. Not a guitar made to break–but a guitar with a break in just the right place that you could sorta convincingly “break” it.
We also did a video with my character reduced to pitching 90s music collections in Time Life infomercials. In this video you will hear our director Elaine pitching me lines for my second take. Dangerous Dave Kuskie was behind the camera for these.
Now, honestly, my memory is so foggy that I can’t say for sure whether either of these videos actually played to the audience. But I know this last one did…it’s the music video that, in our storyline, was such a disaster that it broke up the Playboyz. The vocals are by Chris Obershaw, Dave Kuskie and me. I am also playing one of the boy band members in their 90’s prime. Boy is the dancing awful. Mine I mean. No shade to the other Playboyz.
