It’s getting to be that time of year when many clients want to promote the availability of flu shots. One such client, Alliance Community Pharmacy, let me try a humorous approach.
We’ve done two spots for them, and each one uses humor to peel away the resistance one might have to getting their flu shot. They both point out, in different ways, that men are sometimes hesitant to take care of themselves. In the first, Kalin gives a roll call of flimsy excuses:
In the second, Gles plays a “manly man” who insists he doesn’t need one. A testimonial from someone close to him helps seal the deal:

In each of these spots I have a moment where someone describes what it’s like to have the flu. You can tell people how good it is to not have the flu, but I think reminding them of how truly awful it is to be sick makes a more vivid impression.
