So…it’s Friday night, 1:53am. I am awake. I fell asleep way too early and woke up in time to watch a “Seth Meyers” rerun from before Thanksgiving.
Truth be told, this has been a rotten week health-wise. I actually wrote a blog post earlier this week about it, but it turned out so depressing I couldn’t bring myself to share it. Suffice to say that any week where you visit the ER and your primary care physician is not exactly promising.
But after living through this week, I don’t want to talk about it very much. So let’s listen to some commercials.
First, it’s a Wenty-Krohe rap jam for local salon Total Reflections with an assist by Olivia Newton-Boss. The client chose (wisely, I believe) to run this spot only on our Top 40 station. So you KCOW loyal friends and true will only hear it here!
Next–I have shared here previously a couple of ads for Trinidad Bean and Elevator, with Herr Beanheim and I singing our little hearts out. Here is chapter 3:
Last but not least…my voice has been failing me this week…I sound, depending on how bad things are, like either a drunkard or post-stroke Floyd the Barber from “Andy Griffith”:
The voice will come back. I seem to have stretches of bad days in-between good ones. But this week I wrote and produced a commercial for Dave’s Pharmacy (with a splendid cast of K-Cow players) that turned out just about as good as anything I can do. (I shouldn’t oversell it, it’s just a silly commercial. But when the voice is not cooperating it’s nice to know the other faculties are still present):
