Sid Ramin, an Oscar-Emmy-Grammy winning composer, died earlier this week at 100. He orchestrated Leonard Bernstein’s music for the Broadway play and motion picture of “West Side Story.” Which is remarkable. But we appreciate him for composing this:

I had a wonderful evening last night with a rowdy bunch including Mr. and Mrs. G, The Nellys, Smirk, The Professor and Kroheim von Drinkheim. We were at Alliance’s Brewery 719. I had one four-ounce beer. Then Kro, the Prof and I headed to the Eagles Club where former KCOW weekend warrior Ian Nelson joined the fun. Always nice to hang with KCOW alumni. I do miss having the part-timers around…on the other hand, I have never had to write an angry memo to a computer. So….conflicted. (It should be noted that the angry memos were generally aimed at neither Ian nor Dustin.)

I am enjoying a nice quiet day off. Looking forward to watching the PBS “Capitol Fourth” show, which generally features musical performers I am familiar with. This year’s artists include Carole King and The O’Jays. John Stamos is the host. Familiarity!
Thanks for the shout out, Jason!! Have a great day!!
Wait a minute, wait a minute. Does that mean the angry memos were directed at myself, Johnna, Ryan, Shawn, Dave, Dan, Doug, Kyle(met him once), the list goes on…
